One of the joys of the past year has been my journey through Michael Caine’s large filmography. It’s tough to say when I really became a big fan of his work. It was probably in the past 5 years. Caine joins my other favorites: Dustin Hoffman, Jack Nicholson, Harrison Ford, and Jack Lemmon. That’s my pantheon.
Of his films, it must have been Educating Rita that really pulled me aside and taught me a lesson about performance and storytelling. I adore that film. Here is what I’ve seen so far.
