Just before Climate.gov closed, I co-authored a new essay on the importance of building heat safety protocols for fans at outdoor venues like concerts and football games. The Climate.gov team did a fantastic job with editing and visuals, and my co-authors Rose Nagele, Emma Polinsky, and Lauren Balotin worked tirelessly on research and composition. Anna Eshelman painted a marvelous homage to Salvador Dali’s The Persistence of Memory, adapted to the theme of extreme heat in Brazil.

It was a team effort to bring attention to this vital public health issue.
