Buckwheat means a lot to me. I saw him twice in Annapolis and I was so inspired that I included him in the preface to my bio on Lawton Chiles. They both had incredible spirits. At one show, Buckwheat let me come up on stage and play a note on the accordion. “Peace, Love, and Happiness.”

I think “Walking to New Orleans” is my favorite Buckwheat song. It has obvious resonance with “Walkin’ Lawton Chiles.”
